Hilton High School Open House Thursday, Sept. 23, 7pm-9pm, is for Parents   Hilton High School Principal Brian Bartalo invites all interested HHS parents to attend an Open House Thursday, Sept. 23, from 7 pm to 9 pm.  Parents follow an abbreviated student schedule, meet your child’s teachers, receive an overview of your student’s course of studies as well as learn more about extracurricular offerings and support services available and request a parent/teacher conference.  For further information: 585-392-1000 ext. 2301.

Hilton Central Girls Varsity Soccer Teams to be honored Sept. 24 at LeBeau Field; community invited to 7 pm game vs Spencerport   The Hilton Central Girls Varsity Soccer Program will be honoring its winning Section V Championship Teams Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at its home game on LeBeau Field at Hilton High School.  This year marks 25th anniversary of the 1985 varsity team advancing to state finals. The Hilton Girls Cadets Soccer program will be bringing together past and present players at its home game on Friday, Sept. 24.  The Hilton Girls Varsity Soccer Program won Section V Championships in 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1985 and 1990. The 1985 Sectional Champions advanced to the New York state finals and this team will be specially recognized during the game. The Hilton/Spencerport Girls Varsity soccer game is 7 p.m., Friday, September 24, at LeBeau Field at Hilton High School, 400 East Ave., Hilton.  Hilton Hall of Fame Coach Jim DuPont, who led all six of these championship teams, will attend the celebration.  For further information, please contact Coach Steve Sorensen at 585-392-1000 ext. 3228. Common Sense Parenting Free Course to be offered Fall 2010 through HCSD Community Education   Common Sense Parenting is a practical, skill-based program that has been offered to Hilton area parents since 2003.  The Common Sense Parenting course was developed by Boys Town and is offered to Hilton parents/guardians at no cost with childcare provided.  The program’s logical strategies and easy-to-learn techniques address issues of communication, discipline, decision-making, relationships, self-control and school process.  All interested parents are welcome to attend.  The classes are free. Common Sense Parenting  -- Parents and guardians: this is a six-week, practical, skill-based program. Learn logical strategies and easy-to-use techniques which address communication, discipline, decision-making, relationships, self-control and school process which encourage positive behavior and discourage negative behavior teaching alternatives to problem behaviors. TEACHER: Maria Tantillo LMSW is a certified parent trainer for Common Sense Parenting, a national program. Childcare is available. Hilton High School Child Psychology Class seeks infants and toddlers for observation  The Hilton High School Child Psychology and Development class of teacher Helaine Donn is inviting parents who have infants and toddlers to visit their classes. "The High School students will observe the children and ask questions of the parents about their child’s development," said Mrs. Donn. "This activity provides a great learning experience for them. Parents have a great time also.  The classes also run a preschool in December and in May. Children, ages three to five, are invited to come and play with us for two hours a day," she said. The Child Psychology students plan developmentally appropriate activities and share them with the preschoolers.  Interested parents from Hilton and surrounding districts may participate in any of these activities at Hilton High School, 400 East Ave., Hilton.
