Thirty inducted
into the Merton Williams chapter of the National Junior
Honor S ociety
Nov. 10
Thirty members were inducted into the
Merton Williams Chapter of the Hilton National Junior Honor
Society on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009. Highlights of the
"Night of the Stars" Induction Ceremony included an
instrumental rendition of the National Anthem performed by
Carlos Rivera and Robert Wright. Alexis Graham led the
assembly in the singing of the National Anthem while Onalee
Sortino and Emily Greenwell signed. The guest speaker was
Morgan Graus, ‘08-‘09 NJHS President. During the
Candle Lighting portion of the Ceremony Joan Rutherford
spoke about Scholarship; Abby VanVleck about Leadership;
Emily Greenwell about Service; and Kaitlin Tyrrell about
Citizenship and Character.
During the ceremony, members presented
their parents with a carnation and a star on which they
wrote a note thanking them for their support. At the
end of the ceremony, parents reciprocated with a written
expression of their pride in their children's
accomplishments. Additional members include: Colleen
Arnold, Jordan Carpenter, Dane DiMaria, Mackenzie Dude,
Scott Eisenmenger, Christopher Fillion, Monica Grisdale,
Daniel Hicks, Michael Johnson, Rachael Kazdan, Julia LaJuett,
Shannon Pakusch, Deanna Palma, Erin Pfenninger, Sean Robson,
Joan Rutherford, Samantha Schiano, Philip Schuler, Sarah
Snyder, Rachel Street, Mitchell Wolf, and Rachel Zachary.
