Hilton High School recent graduates talk about college athletic experiences Jan. 4 at Hilton HS

A “College Athlete Panel” presented voices of experience to Hilton student athletes regarding the expectations of being a college student athlete   "We had our first College Athlete Panel for our current student athletes on January 4 in the High School auditorium," said Hilton High School Athletic Director Michael Giruzzi.  "There were eight former Hilton CSD student athletes presenting to around 150 current student athletes. What are the expectations from your coaches regarding practice and play at your school? How do you balance studies and athletics, especially in season?"

The panel consisted of:  Alex Ruta, Class of 2010 football at Utica College (D3); Cal Palumbo, Class of 2007 volleyball at Springfield College (D3); Beth Haight, Class of 2008 field hockey player at Franklin and Pierce (D2); Duell Smith, Class of 2010 football at Marist College (D1) Brian Duffy, Class of 2008 soccer at SUNY Brockport (D3); Jon Schwind, Class of 2008 baseball player at Marist College(D1) and current professional baseball player; Ashley Jones, Class of 2008 cross country/indoor and outdoor track at SUNY Geneseo (D3); Shelby Herman Class of 2008 cross country/indoor and outdoor track at Cornell University (D1).
