Seventy-Two Hilton Music Students selected for All-County Concerts and Festivals; four First Chairs

Congratulations to Hilton Central School District 2010 All-County students who have been selected to participate in the Monroe County Band, Orchestra or Chorus. The Elementary All County Festival will be held on March 10, 2010 at Spry Middle School in Webster. The Junior High All County Festival will be held on March 26-27, 2010 at Hilton High School. The Senior High All County Festival will be held on March 12, 2010 at Honeoye Falls High School and March 13, 2010 at the Eastman Theatre. Hilton music students selected All-State Sr. and Jr. Festival Concerts at Greece Athena and Letchworth High School November 2009

Hilton students’ musical abilities are on display at NYS School Musical Association festival concerts this fall at Greece Athena HS Performing Arts Center and Letchworth High School. Selected for the Senior High Area All State Band/Orchestra held at Letchworth HS Nov. 20-21 were: Band - Jessica Marengo, Flute; Band - Kayla Cash, Clarinet; Molly Ellen Schubert, clarinet; Orchestra - Tatiana Baglioni, French Horn. Selected for the Junior High Area All State held Nov. 6-7 at Greece Athena Performing Arts Center were Hilton High School ninth graders: Band - Rachel Berg, clarinet; Band - Ellie Garno, Trombone; Band - Allison Shield, flute; Orchestra - Anne Taylor, trumpet. Merton Williams Middle School students selected were: Orchestra – eighth grader Nick Marsaw, percussion; Band – eighth grader Chris Marsaw, Bari Saxophone; Band - Victoria Kompanijec, Bassoon; Band – seventh grader Brandon Bourg, Trumpet; Band – eighth grader Onalee Sortino, Flute; Band – eighth grader Kaitlin Tyrell, Clarinet; and Orchestra – eighth grader Robert Wright – Trumpet.  The students’ instrumental music teachers are Nancy Russo at Hilton High School and Chuck Kane at Merton Williams Middle School.
