NYS DMV Online Learner's Permit Testing at Hilton High School 

Students may to take their Learner’s Permit test online at Hilton High School. Hilton Hilton Community Education is NYS DMV-certified to offer the on-site testing. Students within two months of their 16th birthday and who are currently enrolled and in good standing at Hilton High School may take their permit test right at school. NOTE: the test is only for students that HHS and who are at least 15 years old.  Students must be 16-years-old to actually drive on the Learner's Permit.  Manuals are available when the $10 pre-registration fee is paid in the Community Education Registrar’s office located in District Offices, 225 West Ave., Hilton. 

RESOURCES FOR YOUNGER DRIVERS from NYS DMV

NYS DMV - After passing the online exam, students will be given all the paperwork needed to take to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles to apply for Learner's Permit.  The $10 processing fee is in addition to the DMV fees required to obtain a permit.  STUDENTS MUST BRING TO EXAM: a copy of birth certificate [if a non-HCSD student] and one of the following forms of ID: HCSD Student ID with photo or NYS DMV non-driver photo ID. 

Online Course Reservation - RESERVE YOUR COURSE ONLINE - activated after registration fee is received.  No phone registrations. 

Mail-In Course Registration - print out REGISTRATION FORM  and mail with payment to: Hilton Community Education, 225 West Ave., Hilton, NY 14468.  WALK-IN REGISTRATION 1 pm-3:45 pm Monday-Friday CE Office, 225 West Ave., Hilton, NY 14468.  No phone registrations. 

Class Dates - Online Learner's Permit testing is offered monthly on Wednesdays Jan. 25, Mar. 21 and May 23, 2012 at 2:15 pm at Hilton High School, Library Computer Lab A, Hilton High School, 400 East Ave., Hilton. The test proctor, Jane Northrup, is trained by NYS DMV.

The Hilton Community Education program also offers a monthly Five-Hour Pre-Licensing Course which is required by NYS DMV prior to taking a road test for a driver’s license if you are not taking Driver Education.  For further information call Community Education Registration at 585-392-1000 ext. 7044.
