Hilton High School Art Teacher Christine VerWeire announces  Eight students in Hilton High School Art Department's Advanced Digital Media class submitted designs this year for the annual Young Professionals in Publishing competition held by the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Print Media and four were named finalists. 
Music K-12 Program Coordinator Nancy Russo announces the Hilton Central School District has been again named one of the nation's "Best Communities for Music Education" by the NAMM Foundation.
Principal Carol Stehm of Hilton Central School District's Merton Williams Middle School has announced that the middle school has been designated a 2010 Essential Elements School to Watch by the New York State Education Department's Schools to Watch Leadership Team on February 1, 2010.
Presidential Award of Excellence in Math and Science Teaching for Suzanne Pilon  President Barack Obama named more than 100 science, math, and engineering teachers and mentors as recipients of two prestigious Presidential Awards for Excellence on July 9, 2009. she received the award in January 2010 at a White House ceremony.  
National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certification for Brian McDowell  Hilton High School Earth Science Teacher Brian McDowell has earned a certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. There are five teaching principles around which the National Board certifies which employ knowledge, collaboration, and mastery in the profession.
Lifetime Achievement Award for Counselors  Linda Fortin and Maureen Rundle, Merton Williams Middle School counselors Linda Fortin and Maureen Rundle received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Western NY School Counselor Consortium for their work in improving the counseling services. They have presented at state and national conferences, served as mentors to many interns, taught at the university level, and have co-authored a journal article with Karen Mackie, University of Rochester professor: “Comprehensive Group Counseling in the Middle School Setting,” which appeared in the NYS Counselor Association Fall 2006/Winter 2007 focusing on their comprehensive school counseling program which was developed to meet the needs of early adolescents. The program has demonstrated a strong link between comprehensive school counseling and academic achievement at Merton Williams Middle School.
Outstanding Music Educator Melissa Reed  Village Elementary School music teacher Melissa Reed has been named “Outstanding Music Educator” in the category of Classroom Specialist by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Conductor Christopher Seaman will visit Mrs. Reed's classroom at the Village Elementary.
Cultural Media Award Merton Williams Library/Media Specialist Angela Bocuzzi-Reichert received the $500 Robert E. Barron Cultural Media Award.
CH 8 "Golden Apple" to English Teacher David Heise  Mr. Heise was honored with the "Golden Apple Award" in November for his outstanding English teaching in November. He was nominated by his students.
Hilton Central Schools Teachers Association 2009-10 selection of the Hilton Teacher of the Year Cheryl Lee The award was presented on September 8 at the annual staff convocation at Hilton High School.  This year's honoree is Northwood Elementary School fifth grade teacher Cheryl Lee, who is described as "a master teacher and a person who has made a difference in the lives of colleagues and students. . . . a dynamic and masterful teacher . . . strong advocate for the needs of children."
